IN THE MOOD FOR A PREVIEW AGAIN (CHEF DAN KLUGER)

If you or your spouse or friends live in or commute to NYC you and they may want to know about this new collab between the former ABC Kitchen Chef Dan Kluger and delivery food service Maple. ABC Kitchen has become my friend's go to lunch spot and although she has tried to recreate their local organic Kabocha Squash Toast with Carmelized Onions has not yet been able to replicate the incredibly balanced blend of tasty sweet and savory flavor. The Maple menu looks delicious, healthy enough for my fitness goals, but is only available one more week until March 4 so we all need to hurry up and place an order. A portion of each meal will...

IN THE MOOD FOR CLEANSING

After using facial cleansing wipes and ending up at the eye doctor due to an allergic reaction from an ingredient in them, I will never use wipes again. For another shared experience click here.  I Ditched My Fancy Makeup Cleanser For Wipes, And This Is What Happened. Here are 5 great wipe alternative cleanser options: Clinique Rinse-Off Mousse Foaming Facial Cleanser ($20), Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser ($18), Cetaphil ($10), Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Oil ($16) which is new because oil cleansers are very in right now, and my daughter loves this brand (its cleanser has no parabens, sulfates, phthalates)First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser ($29). I had a roomate whose face was a vision of loveliness and she used old fashioned Noxzema which I think works well does not dry out skin...

IN THE MOOD FOR THE OSCARS

Favorites at 10pm: Alicia Vikander's pretty, low key makeup and middle part half up bun hairstyle, Margo Robbie's subtly contoured makeup look, skin glow, big smile and wow gold dress, I can't believe I called that Mad Max would walk away with so many awards. I have always been a fan of the Mad Max movies (my family thinks this is crazy) so I was completely biased....

I like this article "Even out your skin tone in 60 seconds". Click here to read it Coveteur article. Summary: exercise, use sunscreen, exfoliate, use serum & color-correcting makeup primer. Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil is $15 and available at any drugstore. Another pricier one is Sunday Riley’s Artemis Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil ($75). Clarins Santal and Blue Orchid are lovely ($57), and I've read that these two may be worth trying - Juara Radiance Vitality Oil ($65), Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula (high in anti-oxidants and omegas) ($72). All available at Sephora. For goop's picks of the best clean face oils click here goop article. Occasional use of ROC creams with retinol as well as professional facial...

IN THE MOOD FOR A BEACH VACA AGAIN

While on vacation this past week in the sunny and serene Cayman Islands I read that pastel metallic nail polish is a SS16 beauty trend. It made me smile because I wore the new apres-chic iconic platinum Essie color that I wrote about In The Mood For Polish. It looked really fresh with bright colors like yellow shown here and white. This is a simple clean look and similar but more modern than the french manicure. If you have mirrored sunglasses, this polish is the perfect complement. If you don't, maybe you should - they are a SS16 accessory trend. I also read about this makeup product Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush which I really could have used....
