IN THE MOOD FOR LIT PHOTOS (LUMEE)

It isn't always easy to get a great photo, especially at night inside or outside. That's why this gadget, the LuMee iphone/Samsung Galaxy case, grabbed my attention. The phone case literally is "lit" because it illuminates adding essential extra brightness for quality photographs. No more million attempts to get just one adequate photo. I also like how this started out as a photographer's simple idea then evolved as a new product and caught on organically. I mean if Kim Kardashian the selfie queen and Oprah love it then why wouldn't we? This is an American innovation story and a great stocking stuffer for everyone. Check out a short LuMee informational video about how it started and to...

IN THE MOOD SHINY TRENCH (MARKS&SPENCER, ALEXA CHUNG)

It arrived today and I love how shiny this trench is! However, it's small and too cool for me. At least that's what I thought, until my husband told me I was wrong. Does anyone else buy clothes that are too big and too basic for comfort? I clearly am making this mistake. It's likely aging the way we look more than we realize. The trench is a high-shine polyurethane patent leather look coat pictured above on me. I don't like posting pictures of myself but seeing an unusual trend on someone who isn't a young perfect model is realistic and hopefully helpful. The Briggate trench is from the Marks & Spencer collaboration with Alexa Chung a popular British fashionista. There is...

IN THE MOOD BUZZFEED BEAUTY BARGAINS

Makeup addicts (and I) swear by many inexpensive beauty products. So why aren't you using them? You could call me an Aquaphor Healing Ointment "evangelist" - for chapped lips. HERE is a great Buzzfeed list that includes many products I've previously written about on Moodsey. Also, TJMaxx now offers discounted beauty online. Click HERE for some amazing deals on Korean face masks and all kinds of brand name: makeup, skincare, hair care, bath and body, beauty tools. It's almost holiday season and beauty bargains make great stocking stuffers, especially for ourselves. I do not receive proceeds from purchase of these recommended brands. Moodsey is all about sharing not selling. ...

IN THE MOOD POP UP SALE (BANDIER)

I literally just got this invitation and Fairfield County ladies it is not to be missed by me (and maybe you) because a similar event has never happened before to my knowledge. Bandier is having a special pop up sale (up to 70% off) at Chelsea Piers in Stamford this week. Maybe I'll see you there? For me, it's all about the outfit. You can take the girly girl out of the gym but you can't take the girly out of the girl. Click HERE for a previous post about Bandier. I do not receive proceeds from purchase of this recommended brand. Moodsey is all about sharing not selling....

IN THE MOOD TO AMP UP

Amp up easily and quickly via bold gold jewelry instead of a whole new outfit is what I thought when I saw this image above. Look at how elegant this model looks and she only has on a simple sweater with bold gold jewelry. Of course she is gorgeous but please try to ignore that part. Notice the new on trend clay color of the model's sweater. This is a similar color as pictured in a previous post. Click HERE to get inspired and browse the pretty Tiffany pieces shown in the photo. Also, click HERE for a previous post of sumptuous Verdura gold jewelry. I followed my own advice last weekend and "amped-up" with rose gold...

IN THE MOOD LACE

This Reformation Lace top is pretty, simple, fitted, and jazzes up jeans for night - available in black and white. Click HERE to shop before it goes out of stock again. It just got restocked and is already sold out in many sizes. Created in 2009 by Yael Aflalo, Reformation designs and manufactures the majority of their limited-edition collections in downtown Los Angeles. All other garments are produced by responsible manufacturing partners here in the U.S. or abroad using sustainable methods and materials. Employment in the U.S. apparel manufacturing industry has declined by more than 80 percent (from about 900,000 to 150,000 jobs) over the past two decades. I do not receive proceeds from purchase of...

IN THE MOOD FOR DANGER

DANGER! DANGER! Proceed with caution as you approach the woman wearing this bag. Call me crazy but I like that this Off-White’s (that is the brand name) cross body strap mimics police caution tape. Who doesn’t want to feel a little dangerous? A bright hands-free bag is a great way to perk us up while running around on a blah gray rainy day like today. It isn't often that we see something really different and fun, like this or the Hill and Friends happy face clasp bag, mentioned in a previous post. No the paper clip clasp isn't an accident, it is "fashion" and I like it because I find it funny. If you have your heart set on a...

IN THE MOOD GYM INSPIRATION

Look at what I can do after a year of dedicated strength training - squats with 135 pound weights. Crazy, right? Check out the legs on my 43-year-old friend and health coach, Adele Bonnie. Incredible! Look at 80-year-old Ernestine Shepherd pictured above. Wow!! My and Adele’s goals have shifted over time. I used to be more concerned with being “thin” but now I’m more interested in muscle tone and strength. Adele used to run for hours but now she loves seeing how many pull-ups she can knock out in 5 minutes. Our goals and schedules change over time and your goals may be totally different from ours. But we find that what most women we know have in...
