IN THE MOOD FOR BEAUTY PRODUCT SPEED DATING

There are too many beauty product choices. It can feel overwhelming. Here is my take on 45 beauty products I recently tried. Winners are in bold (and more can be found on my previous posts IN THE MOOD FOR SPEED & IN THE MOOD FOR CLARITY). Most are at parity with others, yet some did wow me. TREATMENT PRODUCTS: Dr Dennis Gross age erase recovery mask step 1 enriched hyaluronic gel & step 2 vitamin-infused self-heating mask. $35 for 6 pack HERE - I used this after getting a professional facial (had dry patches) and my skin is back to 100% Kate Somerville Age Arrest Anti-wrinkle Serum  -  At parity with others Perricone MD RE:Firm Surface Recovery Treatment  - At parity with others Olay Regenrist Advanced Anti-Aging Regenerating Serum  - Nice...

IN THE MOOD FOR MUSIC WITH A MESSAGE (MIKE POSNER)

The first time I heard the song "I took a pill in Ibiza" I loved it and needed to hear it again and learn more about it. Mike Posner's song is based on a low point in his career when he was writing for others and feeling very needy for more fame, more money, jealous about others' successes. He attended a performance of a peer and was recognized by some other attendees who invited him to party hard with them. I don't know why I am so surprised by this, he is a songwriter duh, but he was extremely eloquent in his explanation that he in no way condones drug use or hard partying. He merely wanted to write about...

IN THE MOOD TO BE CINDERELLA

Dedar image These sandals would make me feel like Cinderella. They are Bruno Frisoni. Sadly they are just as elusive as Cinderella's missing slipper, but I did find one in black patent and silver, size IT 36/US 5/6, $110 available on TheRealReal Here. Sadly I am Anastasia, my big feet won't fit into them. If yours can and you scoop them up - congratulations Cinderella!...

IN THE MOOD FOR KNOWLEDGE

Some interesting companies have just gained significant investment capital to expand their businesses. 1) Tamara Mellon - The former chief creative officer and co-founder of Jimmy Choo. 2) Juicero - This looks and sounds amazing for all of us focused on healthy eating (WiFi connected for freshness monitoring and auto-delivery of ice pack refills) but it is very expensive (think high end espresso machine equivalent, this juicer is estimated to cost around $2k a year, pre-made organic juices are cheaper). For more information about Juicero with pros and cons click Here. 3) eat - This is a highchair and plate concept that is magnet based to minimize mess and maximize sanity. 4) Knewton -  This is an online adaptive learning resource. Currently offer: Math content for...

IN THE MOOD FOR KYLIE POLISH

Kylie's new "SinfulColors" nail polish line is available for a limited time, and there are some pretty nice shades. She is building her empire yet did the right thing pricing them so her young fans can afford many of them at only $2.98. They are formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, formaldehyde resin and camphor free. My picks are the metallic pinks (Miss Chief in photo) which are on trend this season, but all of these are worth a try: slay gray, Kreme de la Kreme, Kommando, Knight Out, Karamel, Kaf Latte. Available Here....

IN THE MOOD FOR A WELLNESS REBOOT

I started a wellness reboot program with a great group of like minded ladies. We are led by a knowledgeable leader and my fabulous new friend. So far I have quit my chemically processed decaf coffee habit, learned about the benefits of meditation, and have been eating cleaner plus drinking much more water (thanks to this new BPA free infusion water bottle that enables so many delicious naturally flavored water options - this week it's organic pear, honeydew and mint). I've also tried some very healthy green juices (spinach, kale, ginger etc.). I have always started my day the same way as Jennifer Aniston, by washing my face and applying moisturizer/oil plus sunscreen. I have added sipping a cup of...

IN THE MOOD FOR ACTIVEWEAR THAT TRACKS HEART RATE, CALORIES COUNTED, ETC.

pcmag image why smart clothes still need work I've been wondering why there aren't mainstream options for activewear that tracks heart rate, calories counted, steps taken, and real time input about proper or improper form. There is such a thing as a "smart bra". I just haven't heard of anyone actually buying smart clothes not even the "smart bra". Surprisingly, it's fashion (or lack thereof) not the technical aspect holding back this innovation. For an interesting short article about it click Here. I'll keep my ear to the ground and post again when this gets figured out....
