IN THE MOOD FOR MORE DISCOVERY (MAKANAI CLEANSING SPONGE)

Why can't I find a single interesting beauty topic to post about and share with you after reading nearly 200 subjects from various publications? I'm sorry, but after seeing a video regarding new magnetic fake eyelashes (huh?) I was left feeling as if I had writer's block. Has everyone gone on a mini break and put their blogs, magazines, newsletters etc. on automated regurgitation of old content? Is there really simply nothing that new and worthwhile to share? Is it just too hard to create new content? Well here goes. I will try! Here is a product which may be new to us here in the USA but is well known in Japan. I learned about it...

IN THE MOOD…EMERGING TREND (TESLA CHANGES OUR LIVES)

It was a signal from above to write about Tesla. I had just read two articles about Tesla, then my sister in law drove up our driveway in her sleek easy on the eyes new one. Days later I stumbled upon two more related articles, was about to write my post, and then the tragic first accident with the Tesla auto pilot function happened. It seems like yesterday when I had my first flip cell phone and started using email (which according to my daughter is so not used anymore because everyone texts). Before we know it, everyone will own lithium powered electric cars. Goldman Sachs research estimates that by 2025 they will drive at least 20% of new...

IN THE MOOD … DISCOVERY (NONESUCH MAINE SKINCARE)

I am thrilled to share an American, luxurious and natural skincare brand: Nonesuch. We hear a lot about natural products that come from the earth. Well, Nonesuch products come from the sea to be exact an oyster farm. With no preservatives, chemicals, dyes or perfumes, these products are derived from harvested marine life found in the waters off the coast of Maine. Nonesuch supports (as does the state) a tradition of independent workers who harvest from the sea. Also, a percentage of profits is channeled to organizations supporting clean waters and a sustainable working waterfront. I am using the Face Oil and loving it. I really needed a hydrating anti-oxidant and most Vitamin C serums as well...

IN THE MOOD FOR ITALIAN CHIC Vol. 2 (GUCCI MAKEUP & STYLE)

I am seeing this Gucci bag in photos of many celebs and it is so similar to my vintage bag (minus the bee web). I do have a soft spot for Gucci as it was my first luxury brand purchase made while in Italy for the first time. Gucci had a successful year under Alessandro Michel's new creative direction. I like the return to a classic Gucci stripe. Click here Gucci for a quick peek at their Fall, Cruise and SS16 clothing and accessories. Gucci's crossover slide style shoe has already been copied for Spring/Summer and looks very comfortable. The Gucci beauty look for the season is no makeup with a natural flush - by applying this, then this, and a light dusting on...

IN THE MOOD…2016 Teen Slang

This is dedicated to moms with graduating teens. Don't worry if you don't understand any of this. Neither do the Youtubers in this video. Also, don't admit you know this slang. Your teens will hate that. Don't tell your teen that you are a stan (hardcore fan) of them. They will roll their eyes and think you are extra (over the top). However, if their grades are not good you could describe them as sus (suspect, sketchy) and they may be impressed with your slang sis (the new bro). We woke (being aware of pop culture) to teen slang because we want to know if our teen drags (gossips negatively) about us. I am sharing this to ensure our famsquad...

IN THE MOOD…DRUGSTORE MAKEUP

I don't wear a lot of makeup in summer and usually skip face makeup like foundation. But now, as I've aged, I do have the dreaded dark under eye circles and some pink spots that can use help. While I do like tinted moisturizers, sometimes I still need a bit more coverage than those deliver but a non-existent feel and look is a must. I read about this concealer that is similar to YSL's Touche Eclat (which I love) and new compact mineral foundation with cushion sponge - supposedly great for being on the go in summer. So I had to try them (and share my thoughts). They are Physicians Formula: New Mineral Wear Talc-Free All-in-1 Cushion Foundation...

A new one is Sail to Sable. For their above pictured cute red fit and flare dress click HERE. Also, an online prep store that I love is Tuckernuck. IN THE MOOD …DRESS YOUR AGE!? ADVICE

"Indeed, the older you get, the less you can do prim, girlish, preppy, and cute, and the more you can do defined, striking, architectural, and subtle." This quote is from an article that originally appeared in the April 2015 issue of Harper's BAZAAR by Lisa Armstrong the Fashion Director of The Telegraph. While this article is a year old I mention it because this theme is still prevalent in the media. I just read one that told me at my age I should wear a swimsuit with sleeves because I really should be covering myself up. In 90 degrees. I am not sure what some of the terms above mean: defined (does that require a lot of black?), striking...
